NavigatorsThis is a featured page

Navigating and Mentoring is powerful strategic direction for PRI. Navigators are PRI volunteers who help people in poverty access area resources. "General" navigators have a broad knowledge; "specialized" navigators may have expertise in one area such as health care or education.

More information is available on the Traverse Bay PRI website: Navigating and Mentoring. Discussions on this topic are facilitated on this page (below).

Northwest Michigan Works! is offering online training for job navigators who will work with former recipients of cash assistance, also called welfare, to help them transition to sustainable employment. Watch the video to learn more about being a job navigator.

At the Feb 1 "Poverty to Progress" conference I had a chance to talk to Frank Leonard who owns the SAve a Lot store in East Jordan. He makes gift cards available to families in need in his area. He feels that the TC store will be willing to do the same. I will contact the owner and see what we can accomplish for the TC families in need.
The Feb 1 event was truly something special!
